The Driving Examiners trade union The Public and Commercial Services union is asking its members to take strike action on Monday and Tuesday, 8 and 9 March.
DSA ask that candidates who have a driving test booked for either day attend as scheduled. DSA do not know the effects of the strikes until the day as not all examiners and staff are members of the union and they do not know at this stage who will attend for work, which is why they asking everyone to attend for their test appointment.
If a test does not go ahead because of the action, the test will be rebooked automatically, free of charge, and an appointment confirmation will be sent by email or post.
However, due to the timing of this action and the training day detailed below, it is likely that a new test date won’t arrive with candidates for 7-10 days. They can check on-line before receiving the confirmation to see if a new date has been entered from around the 4th to 5th working day following the cancellation.
DSA Call Centre
The DSA Contact Centre will be closed on Tuesday 16th March all day for a training and development day for all staff. All callers will hear a message over the next few days advising them of this.
ADIs will also hear the message on the fast-track system to enable them to forward plan and advise their pupils accordingly. Wherever possible, DSA are encouraging the use of the internet service. |
