Approved driving instructor (ADI) 'fit and proper' person criteria25-08-2015
The revised minimum criteria used to decide if someone is a 'fit and proper' person to become and remain an approved driving instructor (ADI) has been published by DVSA

This guidance sets out the minimum criteria which must be met to be an ADI, and how the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) decides if you’re a ‘fit and proper’ person.

This is a term used in law about being an ADI, but it’s not defined because it’s not possible to be definitive in what is ‘fit and proper’. This guidance includes the various factors that will be taken into consideration when DVSA makes a decision.
