Why so few changes to the DL2506-10-2017
Many have been surprised by the small number of changes made to the DL25 to accommodate the changes to the driving test due on December 4th.

It seems that sensible use of resources is behind the limited changes made to the DL 25 Driving Test Report form in preparation for the revised driving test.

DL25 forms are scanned electronically to record the data collected and changing the form is apparently costly because it would mean changes to the scanning software and would be somewhat wasteful as DVSA are planning to roll out tablets for all examiners next year…

This recent photograph of a DVSA poster shows the agency are making ready to resurrect electronic marking for driving tests.

We’re listening

You told us you don’t have the tools you need to do your job.

So we’ve improved broadband speeds, given Enforcement staff smartphones and secured funding for tablets for driving examiners.

It was back in May 2014 when the DVSA announced they were working to introduce a simpler driving test report form to better reflect the National Standards. At that time, they also stated that “In the future, this could also support the introduction of new technologies for recording driving test results.”

Those plans were shelved then but it seems they might be re-introduced next year.
